I'll Take One of Each, Please!

I love how Valentino's bags manage to mix girly, grown up and elegant into these irresistible little packages. They really are a work of art. Too bad they cost more than most people's monthly rent. Click here if you want to buy me a belated birthday present.

Hello Flawless by Benefit

I'm a big believer in everything by Benefit for everyday makeup - they keep things fresh and pretty, never looking too made up. I use Badgal Lash Mascara, Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow in birthday suit, and You Rebel Light tinted moisturizer on a daily basis.

I walked into
Sephora yesterday to restock on the tinted moisturizer and find a good pressed powder to keep the summer "shine" at bay. I ended up walking out with this, a "custom powder cover-up". And its amazing. Its a powder but works as a foundation/concealer - to use it as a powder and for overall sheer coverage use the brush, for more coverage use the sponge on those troubled spots.

It covered up my pimples and evened out my
skin tone without looking like I'm wearing makeup at all! This little beauty is getting a permanent ocean-view location in my bag.

P.S. And yes, I confess that I am slightly suckered in by
their marketing - but their product is so good that it actually lives up to the hype - so I don't feel bad.

Twelfth Night - Shakespeare in the Park

Image via Pentagram

Sometimes I forget just how lucky I am to be living in NYC, especially in the summer where it is so easy to experience new things. I just finished reading Othello in my summer literature class and was feeling just ripe enough to tackle Shakespearean theater. In perfect timing, my friend Chana scored some tickets to Twelfth Night playing at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park.

It was very exciting to see major stars Anne Hathaway (Devil Wears Prada, Rachel Getting Married) and Audra McDonald (Private Practice) up close and personal, as well as performing in styles so different from everything else they've done. Of course, there was an amazing assortment of major theater actors that did a fantastic job in keeping the play moving steadily along.

The weather was just about perfect for an outdoor theater that added to the complete experience. It was funny, witty and smart all the way through and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Last word: Go see it! Now! It's Free!

When Can I Move In?

Oh, oh white walls and pink headboards and high ceilings and shutters on the inside and a chandelier and a fireplace and windows... I don't know what I love best about this room!

A Book Look

I love books. Not just reading them, but everything about the way they look, smell and feel. I believe that books should not be quarantined to the library or study, but should be spread throughout the house for easy access. Here are some book looks I love:

Wallpapered Furniture

I love wallpapered furniture - I think everything looks better with a little color and/or pattern slapped onto it. A great way to fix up secondhand furniture.

Freerange Mordy

My nephew Mordy at a farm upstate. The kid (baby goat that is) doesn't stand a chance.

And yes, he is that cute.

Free Software

I get a real kick out of finding free stuff online, especially free software. Here are some that I use all the time and love, love, love:

PDF995 - a free PDF writer

Bubbl is a free brainstorming app - I used it to brainstorm program names for GYMIES
Zoom in and out to get a better look.

It's really nifty because you can export it as a jpeg or as an html like I did here.

A better known site that I use ALL the time is PANDORA a music site that customizes radio station to suit your moods and tastes.

I hope you enjoy this sites as much as I do!

Free Invites

I'm throwing a bridal shower for a friend - here are the free invites I found:
Via Heirloom Paperie Free Template Tuesdays. Aren't the the prettiest?! I'm going to print them on cream cardstock.

I matched them up with these mailing labels from The Container Store.

They are actually bin labels, but I printed them and I think they will look great on brown envelope.

This is my first real DIY party and I'm really excited to see what I can do for dirt cheap but still look fabulous. Ok, off to look for more great finds... matching papergoods perhaps?

Rite Lite's Hanukkah Catalog

The Rite Lite Hanukkah catalog finally arrived! I love the way it came out! Big shout out to my fab friend and co-worker Jen for her time, energy and talent! (Ok too many exclamation points for my own good.) Click on the photo to see the beauty in life size.

GYMIES Logo

Really happy with how it came out:

I'm looking for some logo ideas for my marketing firm HANNABI @ Logo Faves. Here's some that I like:

Shoe Cards

My lovely friend Rachel introduced me to these beautiful shoe cards by shoe designer Barbara Music. Here are some of my favs:

Magnetic Chalkboard Walls

One of the first things I want to do when I have my own place is paint a magnetic chalkboard wall - I think it is so fresh and fun and practical all at the same time!

My New Favorite Site Looks

I used to hate white backgrounds on websites, thinking it looks so undone. That opinion quickly changed once I caught sight of this and this. I think the bright colors against white are so eye-catching.
